There’s hope amid being distressed

On September 26, 2009, typhoon “Ondoy” hit Metro Manila and some part of Central and Southern Luzon.
Hopelessness can be seen in the eyes of every Filipino affected by the typhoon as flood and landslides destroyed their homes, businesses, agricultural lands, livelihood, and to some extent, brought death to some of our fellow Filipinos.

volunteersEfforts to extend hand to those who were highly affected by the typhoon were initiated by almost everyone who has the capacity and willingness to help. iCare Compassion Ministry Foundation, Inc. launched “OPLAN PAG-ASA” to help the victims of Typhoon Ondoy. Volunteers from the Jesus Is Lord Church (members, pastors, and executives) and the Bagong Pilipinas, Bagong Pilipino Movement join hands as they all together donated, repacked and distributed relief goods to our countrymen. Bro Eddie Villanueva joined the group to do this humane and worthy endeavor. He spearheaded the distribution of the relief goods at Cainta, Pasig, Marikina, Obando, Marulas Valenzuela, Dalandanan Valenzuela, Novaliches, and Fairview. He also prayed and gave words of encouragement to the distressed people reminding them not to lose hope but rather entrust everything to God. Other areas that were reached by the iCare were Mandaluyong, San Juan, Cubao, Malabon-Navotas, Taguig-Pateros, Paranaque, Muntinlupa, Las Pinas,Makati, Tatalon, Munoz, and Laguna.

bro eddie_icareTruly, a new hope was released to our Filipino brethren through this simple act of giving and sharing. In times like this, we can observe the kindness of Filipinos who are willing to extend their hands or even risk their own lives for the benefit of others. If every Filipino will do the same, even though there are no calamities, our beloved nation will surely be united and strong. As the passage say, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
